The easy way to get to Habu Kyoto from Kyoto Station is to take #17 city bus to Kinrin shako mae bus station. It is only 2 min. from there. 

#32 bus heading for Ginkakuji also stops right in front of the shop at Honenin mae bus stop.

A taxi ride from Kyoto station wil be about ¥2000. Just tell the driver to head to Shishigatani-dori and let you off in front of the Honenin mae bus stop. Look for the Ishimatsu Sushi restaurant, which is right next door.
