aos-15 indigo dyed "asa-o taima" hemp fiber

$45.00

This hemp fiber is specially grown & harvested only to create a braided rope hanging at the entrance way to the shrines and temples in Japan. The farm is burned each time after the harvest to prevent any misuse of the left over crop.

It is a beautiful golden cream fiber dip dyed with natural indigo on the bottom. You can create a beautiful fiber by splitting it by finger nails and connecting the ends together, which is a traditional method of creating a continuous thread "te-umi." With the indigo, you can create a variegated thread.

If you would like to see the pure cream, please take a look at AOS-57.

Please note that the colors you see on the screen may not be accurate as each monitor displays differently. Thank you for your understanding.
